£10 buys all the Bamboo weaving training, materials and tools needed for a Rural Indian woman.
In the Villuppuram district in southern India, many are reliant on seasonal, low paid jobs to earn an income, and cannot afford medical care, enough food or schooling.
This funding will for Tzedek’s partner organisation HNC will provide women with the training, materials and tools required to produce bamboo products, such as baskets, bins and dustpans. These women are aged between 22-40 and are currently unemployed due to the seasonal nature of work available. Once trained, the women will be able to sell their bamboo products in the local and surrounding areas, enabling them to earn a stable income.
